SHIFTING BONDS - A FASHION COLLECTION
The story behind my Bachelor collection is rooted in a very personal passion.
As our oldest means of transport, direct energy supplier, weapon and for over 6.000 years holy partner of our gods – The history of mankind is deeply connected to horses. Let's say: Our evolutionary speed and strategy were based on the connection to this animal. Like humanity, the role of the horse has always mirrored the development of our world. Thus, the exploited, living tool has become a privileged and protected animal of the upper class, with its own fashion. With my work, I exhibit everything that horses are on the human body and the agony and oppression that goes with it. The final look doesn't allow walking, the model can hardly see, and the corsages at the neck and waist almost prevent breathing. The models are shown denuded. The discomforting cuts are combined with godly capes and fluidly draped fabrics, prints of the beautifully strong animal itself in combination with modern riding sport elements. The mood is influenced by my personal connection to the animal: The calm I feel wandering through the woods on the back of my partner. The smell of fresh morning air, smoke-like breathing clouds and sunbeams falling through the treetops. Fur tickles my fingertips because I left my fancy riding gloves in the stable. I risk plunging deeper and deeper into the forest and am rewarded with beautiful wide clearings reflecting the morning light. I feel like exploring a fairy tale on the back of my partner.
